I Have Seen the Wind

A windy Saturday for day 24 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge. My trip to the mall this morning was not exactly a walk in the park. Walking there was not a problem. I bundled and hooded up. The nippy temperature speeded up my steps. The wind blew me forward. All I had to do was to raise my arms up like the winds of an eagle and I flew into the parking lot. Coming home was another matter. I had to dig my heels in, lower my head bend over not to get blown away. I learned to hug fence lines and tall buildings to block the force of the wind.

It is late afternoon and the wind is still blowing. I’ve just finished the last of my first apple pie. I’m getting sleepy from the sugar load. Perhaps I had too big a slice. Trying to get creative with words is alot harder than this morning’s windy walk. I shall persevere though I feel like curling up with a blanket and have a nap. How do you get through these periods of lackadaisy moods? Right in the moment I feel I must be the most bored and boring person in the world.

I have to remember that October can be a dangerous month with shorter days and longer nights. It was still dark at 7:30 this morning. There was no sun to lure me out of bed. I had to rely on my own iniative and willpower. I have to give myself some kudos for morning walk. No matter how I feel I still feel the need to get up, dress up and show up for my life. It’s a motto I’ve adopted from Regina Brett. It has served me well.
