I woke up this morning and it was still -3 C. I opened my eyes and the sun was shining through the window. I got out of bed and found Sheba laying in a pool of sunlight, so content with herself.
The dining room table was a feast of green, full of bedding plants coming in for the night. It was a great way to greet the day – sunlight, greens and a happy dog.
The light danced off the walls, highlighting and casting shadows, reminding me of life – light and shadows, good and bad, the yin and the yang. And I moved and flowed through my morning qigong routine.

I love your greens! I can never grow anything!
I have a green thumb! 🙂
Light is necessary for life. Your dog felt the power through her skin. But just as we need light, the shadow is the perfect contrast. One would be unbearable without the other.
I enjoyed reading your description of the beautiful and refreshing morning. It is exquisite.
Thank you Romi!
Hi – stopping by from the Facebook UBC group – again! We seem to keep posting around the same time! We have that same “sun dance” ritual around here on bright, sunny mornings. Like your dog lying in the patch of sunshine, our dog and six cats all do the same! They all seem to have their favorite spots to catch the rays, whether it’ s the floor, a piece of furniture, or a window.
Thank you again. Sunlit mornings are wonderful!
Your flats of plants remind me of my wife. All winter she has a little “green house” set up in the basement–full of the critters. Basil, tomatoes, peppers, flowers. So life-giving. John
