August 9th turned out to be a beautiful day. I’ve been marinating myself in Trump news by reading the 2 Heathers’ posts every morning, Heather Cox Richardson and Heather Delaney Reese (It’s a Lovely Life). It’s not good. I’m getting a sense that our world is very malignant. It’s not good but I could not stop reading the Heathers. So I started to listen to positive speakers on Youtube like Bruce Lipton to get a sense that there is still goodness in the world.
I’m up to my eyebrows in fatigue and lethargy. It is hard to feel creative. Depression is a luxury I cannot afford. I have too many beans to process. I have too much clutter to clear. I have too much dust and dirt to clean. I feel too much responsibility for my 95 year old father even though I have 2 siblings to share the care. I just feel too much of everything. It is just too much to sort out. So I am going to pack it in and call it a day. Tomorrow is another new start.
When weighed down badly, I sometimes hear a whisper in my spirit saying, Let go. It doesn’t always immediately make sense but if I ask for a bit of help “from above”, it quickly becomes clear what I need to pare down, for how long, or put off or even stop doing completely. Being overwhelmed is the clearest signal that something has got to give. Often, it means we have to fight ourselves to do what is healthy.
So, give yourself some love. You’re a good, tough and enterprising soul but even you have limits which must be recognised.
Thank you.
I completely understand the feeling of having too much. I especially feel that in regards to my mother. Like you, I have siblings that help out, but the bulk of the responsibility falls on me. There are times I just want to take off and leave no forwarding address.
I’ve often thought of leaving town, too. Maybe we should run away together. 😃
