The snow came as promised. Along with it wind. It feels wintery except that it’s not cold. The snow is wet and heavy, weighing down the branches of the neighbour’s spruce trees, but not my spirit. I feel just fine, thank you very much. I’m happy we’re getting this moisture to quench the earth’s thirst. I’m getting used to the unpredictableness of the weather and life. It’s a rocky ride. I’m hanging on.

Everything is cool, meaning ok in the greenhouse. We have a little heater that turns on when it gets below 7℃. There’s the rockwall and buckets of water that hold in the heat during the day and give off heat at night. So the heater seldom runs unless we have a long stretch of cloudy cold days. Seeing that the snow was piled up by the greenhouse door, I filled 2 buckets to melt inside for watering. I see that 2 of the photos are a bit blurry. Drat! They will have to do. They’re good enough. So ends day 17 of the Ultimate Blog Challenge.

I often forget that people in various parts of the world have winter weather now. I hope the sun shines there for you soon.
Sun coming on Saturday.
Great idea to melt snow to water your plants! Where are you? I don’t feel so bad about the rain today now that I see you have snow!!! Glad to hear that it’s not affecting your spirit!!!
I’m in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, western Canada. It’s not cold – 1℃.
Lily, what is this thing “snow” of which you speak? Just kidding– I vaguely remember snow, having lived in Phoenix for many years but having visited Denver sometimes. I am so charmed by your greenhouse! Is it back-to-back with your outdoor fireplace in the first picture? While I may have missed any seeding opportunities in our climate, it’s great to see your sprouts come up. Thank you for sharing these with us!
The greenhouse has a sloping roof. Then there’s the bicycle shed with the living roof. The woodstove is next to the shed. The weather is strange now. Last year we ski almost every day till April 2. This year hardly any snow most of the winter. Then we had a whole winter’s snow in one weekend! How the garden grows will be a surprise, too, I bet.
Keep warm dear. It went from 80’s to 40’s here in two days. This type of weather change is what really causes me to have lots of pain.
Those changes are hard for me, too, Brenda. It’s snowy and blowing but not cold. Keep well.
I love your greenhouse and with weather like this, it’s perfect to keep your plants safe. What a great idea to melt the snow and use for watering. I’m looking forward to when you have spring and your plants begin to take off.
Glad you’re “enjoying” the unpredictability. I wasn’t as pleased when I woke up to snow this morning.
Great to hear about the heater in your greenhouse.
